Covid coach caught fire at Gaya Junction, High-Level Investigation ordered

 

Train caught fire at Gaya Junction

On Monday morning, fire broke out in one of the six parked coaches of an East Central Railway at Gaya Junction in Bihar. 

The coaches were parked in the yard since April, 2020, luckily no casualties reported in the accident. The reason of the fire is still unknown and a high-level investigation has been ordered.

The six coaches which includes the burnt coach were meant to isolate Covid positive passengers found during tests at Railway station. The coach which caught fired suffered significant amount of damage however, other five coaches escaped damages as the fire was extinguished before it could have severe impact. 



In a press release issued by Rajesh Kumar, the chief of public relations officer(CPRO) of the East Central Railway, he said "Fire started around 9:15 am on Monday. The coach, which was to be used for isolating Covid Positive individuals was completely deserted. No damage to other Railway property or human life is reported. Soon after receiving information about the incident, RPF and GRP officials arrived on the scene and immediately called the fire department, which brought the situation under control by 10:30 am"
